R.K. Ramazani Recognized by the Middle East Institute

March 4, 2009 — The Middle East Institute published a special edition of its publication, Viewpoints, on "The Iranian Revolution at 30," and dedicated it to renowned Iran scholar R.K. Ramazani, professor emeritus of government and foreign affairs at the University of Virginia.

Ramazani, who has written on Iran since 1954, is a longtime supporter of the institute and a member of The Middle East Journal's editorial advisory board. His essay, "Understanding Iranian Foreign Policy," prefaces more than 50 original essays in the special edition, the first of a series of six publications commemorating the events of 1979.

Since 1946, the Middle East Institute has been dedicated to increasing Americans' knowledge and understanding of the region. It offers program activities, media outreach, language courses, scholars and an academic journal to help achieve its goals. For information, visit www.mideasti.org.
