Scholars' Lab Hosts 'Digital Therapy' Faculty and Grad Luncheon Sept. 9

Sept. 5, 2008 — U.Va. faculty and graduate students are invited to the Scholars' Lab on Sept. 9 at noon to meet the new graduate fellows in digital humanities as part of the lab's first "Digital Therapy" faculty and graduate student luncheon of the semester.

With projects incorporating creative uses of database design, geospatial analysis and cultural mapping, the fellows — Jean Bauer of history, Pierre Dairon of the French department and Abigail Holeman of anthropology — are applying exciting new methodologies to the study of early American history, French literature and ancient cosmology. Each will speak briefly about their research, and a free lunch will be served.

The Scholars' Lab is located in Alderman Library, just past Greenberry's. For details and a list of upcoming speakers, visit www.lib.virginia.edu/scholarslab/about/events.html.
