University Police Charge Three Juveniles with Armed Robbery

Nov. 20, 2007 — University of Virginia Police responded to Bonnycastle Drive shortly after 7:00 p.m. on Nov. 20, 2007 for a reported attempted armed robbery.

The victim was approached by the juveniles while he was sitting in his car on Bonnycastle Drive. One juvenile displayed a knife and demanded an iPod from the victim.  The victim was able to roll up his window and lock himself in his car while he called 911.

The suspects fled but were stopped by University Police near Emmet Street.
 
All three juveniles were charged with armed robbery in connection with this incident.  The juveniles were 13, 14, and 15 years of age.  They are currently being held at the Blue Ridge Juvenile Detention Center.
