U.Va. Dining Offers Discounts to Faculty, Staff

March 16, 2011 — U.Va. Dining Services is offering a dining discount card for meals and special food offers to faculty and staff at the University of Virginia at select dining locations.

The card is free to all faculty and staff, but participants must provide an e-mail address and opt into the U.Va. Dining mailing list to receive details about specials and other information.

The discounts cannot be combined with any other offers or coupons and participants must show the discount card to the cashier to be eligible for the special offers. A faculty/staff identification card by itself will not be accepted. Discounts and locations were determined from feedback from faculty and staff.

Standard discounts for the spring term 2011 include: $5 brunch, eat-in only, at Observatory Hill Dining Hall on Saturday and Sunday for card-holder and their guests; $5 lunch at Runk Dining Hall, eat-in only, weekdays, for the card-holder only; $2 off lunch at Garden Room, eat-in only, on Fridays for card-holder. Taxes are not included in the discount.

Participants also will receive a one-third discount at Starbucks in South Lawn Commons on Fridays from 1 p.m. to closing, excluding merchandise and bulk coffee; a free 20-ounce bottled Pepsi product with a $5.99 purchase at the Runk C Store Monday through Thursday; a free medium drip coffee or 20 oz. fountain soda with a $5.99 purchase at Café McLeod; and a free two-liter beverage with the purchase a whole pizza at Topio's in Newcomb Hall's Pavilion XI food court.

Other discounts will be offered throughout the semester and will be promoted through e-mail. These short-term specials will include deep discounts for various locations on Grounds. Applications and cards are available at all dining locations.
