U.Va. Engineering Graduate Students to Display Research

April 14, 2009 — The University of Virginia Engineering Research Symposium, which highlights graduate research, will be held Thursday from 3 to 5 p.m. in Wilsdorf Hall.

About 20 graduate students will compete in a poster competition judged by three area Ph.D.'s working in engineering or a related field.

The symposium is initiated and run by the Graduate Engineering Student Council. Throughout the day, student researchers from a wide range of engineering disciplines, including biomedical, systems, chemical and computer engineering, will present their work to peers and a panel of judges.

"The quality of our students' research at both the undergraduate and graduate level is astounding," said James H. Aylor, dean of the Engineering School. "Every year, I look forward to seeing the dedicated and brilliant work of our students at these events."
