Sepsis is a life-threatening infection, especially when it strikes premature babies. By the time symptoms develop, the infant is already very sick. Now a new test may detect the infection almost before it starts. … Now, thanks to a breakthrough test, doctors may be able to spot sepsis in preemies before symptoms ever start. Researchers at the University of Virginia developed the test after studying the heart rates of premature infants.

A report released last month by the Virginia Transportation Research Council, a joint project of the University of Virginia and the state department of transportation, finds that there are less invasive alternatives to speed cameras and speed bumps. Athletics Spending Questioned Inside Higher Ed / July 17 Moody's Investors Service released a report Monday cautioning that spending on Division I athletics may or may not have a positive financial impact.
