Virginia junior Somdev Devvarman this week became the first men's tennis player to reach the NCAA singles final in consecutive years since Georgia's Matias Boeker, who won in 2001 and '02. ...Last week, Devvarman received the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Rafael Osuna Sportsmanship Award. It's given annually to a men's tennis player who displays, in addition to excellence on the court, sportsmanship, character and scholarship.
The University of Virginia Art Museum will hold a gallery talk by Andrea Douglas, curator of collections and exhibitions, at 2 p.m. Sunday. On Saturday, May 19, a Senior Summit was held in the [Wakefield Country Day] school's auditorium, with students presenting their theses on a variety of topics. Each had chosen a topic back in the fall and worked on his or her thesis for over six months. As part of the research phase, the seniors traveled several times to Charlottesville to utilize the extensive library resources housed at the University of Virginia.
