Aug. 1, 2008 — The Institute for Shipboard Education and Semester at Sea global education program invite prospective students and families to experience Open Ship — a nautical version of a traditional campus tour — on Aug. 24 in Norfolk.
Get a first-hand feel for Semester at Sea aboard the MV Explorer, a 24,000-ton passenger ship outfitted with classrooms, recreational facilities, study areas, computer labs and an 8,000-volume library.
Check-in will be from 2 to 2:30 p.m., with an overview and Q&A from 2:30 to 3 p.m. The ship tour and more Q&A follow from 3 to 4 p.m.
You must register in advance and use event code NFK-OS. When you RSVP online you will be required to enter your passport or driver's license number. This information is necessary for clearing security at the Port of Norfolk. Deadline is Aug. 15.
