April 4, 2007 -- Alice Greenwald, director of Memorial Museum, World Trade Center Memorial Foundation, will speak at the University of Virginia on Thursday, April 19, at 7 p.m. in Campbell Hall, room 158. Greenwald's talk, "Passion on All Sides: Planning a Memorial Museum at Ground Zero," is free and open to the public. A reception will follow the lecture.

Greenwald, director of the World Trade Center Memorial Museum, which will be built to recall the events of September 11, 2001, said, "We deal with great loss here at this museum, incomprehensible loss. And we deal with trying to integrate that loss into our collective understanding of history, our personal history of what it means to be a human being." In her
lecture, Greenwald will share how lessons that were learned at the U.S. Holocaust
Memorial Museum provide guidance as this new memorial is created.
