June 14, 2006 -- Jeanette Lancaster, Ph.D, R.N. FAAN, dean of the University of Virginia School of Nursing, is ranked among the 300 “most powerful people in healthcare ” in the United States, according to a recent Modern Healthcare magazine survey.
In addition to being the longest tenured of current deans within the University, Lancaster is also the Sadie Heath Cabaniss Professor of Nursing, a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing, and the new president of the prestigious American Association of Colleges of Nursing. She is among 300 finalists (selected from a field of 9,200 nominations) for the publication’s fifth annual national survey to determine the “Top 100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare.”
