The Bigger Picture: A Singing Club for People Who Can’t Sing? We’ve Got That

There’s a push-up contest at the Barbell Club. A few feet away, a neuroscience club seeks brainy members. There’s also a ceramics club, a club for international students and a host of a capella groups, including one for people who can’t carry a tune.

On Wednesday, hundreds of club representatives fanned out on the University of Virginia’s Lawn and inside the McIntire Amphitheater hoping to coax new members into their ranks. And they had thousands of students to coax on a warm August day. UVA is known for providing just about any club for any interest, no matter how broad or narrow.

3-D printing? There’s a club for that. Aerial dance? Yep. Ballroom dance? We’ve got that.

But if you missed the activities fair because you were lingering over breakfast, fear not. The Cereal Club might be right for you.
