Beginning Monday, Ambassadors wearing distinctive neon-green vests will be deployed throughout the neighborhoods to the north and east of U.Va. Grounds, ready to offer assistance to anyone who needs it.

The panel -- which will examine the practices and procedures by which student-athletes are advised and mentored, enrolled in courses and are evaluated -- was not established in reaction to any institutional issues or concerns, but rather as a way to proactively review the effectiveness of U.Va.’s current support, practices and procedures related to student-athletes and their experiences at the University, and in an attempt to ensure continuous improvement.

The rankings, which balance academic strength and cost factors, have included U.Va. among the nation’s top 100 – public or private – since their inception in 2008.

In the wake of several tragedies around U.Va., one of the University’s oldest secret societies posted banners around Grounds calling upon individuals to commit to look out for one another and offering $57,777 to efforts to effect cultural change.

The University will host two graduation ceremonies on Finals Weekend, due to growing crowds and renovations to the Rotunda.

‘Early Action’ Option Proving Popular for U.Va. Applicants

The Mead Endowment awarded a dozen grants to faculty who are seeking ways to further interact with students outside the classroom, including one engineering project that has a goal that is out of this world.
