March 5, 2009 — The Office of University and Community Partnerships will host a panel discussion, "Faculty Engaged Scholarship," on March 27 at 3 p.m. in Newcomb Hall room 481.
U.Va. faculty members will discuss how they have integrated community engagement with their research and teaching, and why community partnerships are important to their scholarship.
The scheduled panelists include Steve Stern, Merrill Banker Professor of Economics and faculty researcher with the Charlottesville-Albemarle Commission on Children and Families; Winx Lawrence, a professor and clinical psychologist in the Curry School of Education and director of U.Va.'s Young Women Leaders Program; and Craig Barton, associate professor and chairman of the Department of Architecture and Landscape Architecture.
Space is limited; register online by March 18.
