The latest accolade for the city reinforces the portrait of an entrepreneurial scene on the rise, driven in part by the University’s investments – both academic and financial – in entrepreneurial students, faculty and staff.

The Darden School of Business landed near the top of the global ranking thanks to extensive resources supporting entrepreneurship and an extraordinary track record of success among alumni entrepreneurs.

The ranking is the highest in Darden’s history, as the school moved up one spot from its previous No. 3 ranking. Darden also earned the No. 1 ranking for “Education Experience,” continuing a five-year reign in that category.

The inaugural Thomas Jefferson Foundation Medal in Global Innovation will recognize an individual for his or her role in guiding a significant global innovation that creates value for humanity.
