This week’s festival – offering virtual screenings, discussions and drive-in movies – is unlike any other, and the effort behind it might be worthy of its own screenplay.
Keith Knight, creator of the TV show “Woke,” and other political cartoonists will participate in a virtual symposium Oct. 22-24 , sponsored by UVA’s Albert and Shirley Small Special Collections Library.
Two UVA professors worked with administrators and teachers at Baker-Butler Elementary School to develop a design-thinking curriculum that has contributed to the school’s success in closing achievement gaps.
Guests will include Annette Bening, Leslie Odom Jr., Ethan Hawke, former photographer and author Pete Souza, and more, along with feature films like “Ammonite.”
In the last four years, Lester Jackson, who works in Facilities Management as an elevator technician, has created 12 full-length albums under the stage name Nathaniel Star.
