The University of Virginia is in the midst of an active summer of improvements designed to make Grounds more awesome than ever.
The Alderman Library renovations are on course for completion at the end of 2023. The area known as the Emmet-Ivy Entrance Corridor is also coming along and will be home to several units, including the School of Data Science and the Karsh Institute of Democracy.
Another locus of activity, to use an SAT word, is right next to The Dell, a serene place known for silky waters and the occasional aggressive goose. Located across Emmet Street from the Central Grounds Parking Garage and abutting Bavaro Hall, this new scaffold will become the new home to UVA’s Contemplative Sciences Center.
