The Bigger Picture: Halls of Discovery

The Chemical Engineering Building and Wilsdorf Hall are homes to University of Virginia faculty and student researchers who are working on solutions to some of our most pressing challenges.

Researchers in chemical, biomedical and materials science engineering are building better batteries, harnessing alternative energy sources, mitigating environmental pollutants, and enabling the development of novel new materials for myriad uses – including medical applications, such as tissue regeneration.

And that’s to name just a few areas where UVA faculty and students are making a difference in people’s lives.
