The top awards for faculty and staff at UVA, the Thomas Jefferson Awards honor four recipients this year: Dr. William Petri and Dennis Proffitt for scholarship, and Colette Sheehy and Carl Zeithaml for service.
The board also heard an update on the George Rogers Clark statue, which will be removed from its current location this summer.
The Institute will build on UVA’s expertise in the study of democracy, public policy and leadership and fund construction of a new building for public forums, classes and research.
