Spanish professor Fernando Operé has been bringing together the Spanish-speaking community for 40 years, this year presenting the play, “Fractales,” Thursday through Sunday.

Some of the earliest recorded folk songs, collected through the Virginia Folklore Society founded at the University, are now freely accessible to all as streaming audio through the UVA Library.

Over the University’s first 40 to 50 years, likely thousands of enslaved laborers worked on the developing Grounds, but they were not always identified.
