For a year, the University of Virginia community has mourned the deaths of Devin Chandler, Lavel Davis Jr. and D’Sean Perry, student-athletes who were slain in a shooting on Grounds on Nov. 13, 2022.

All these many months later, the void is still wide and deep. But at the same time, the celebrations of their lives have forged unbreakable bonds among teammates, provided inspiration for their classmates, and camaraderie among fellow UVA athletes and opponents alike.

This page includes UVA Today’s ongoing coverage of the tragedy, the community’s healing, and the legacy the young men have left behind.
